These retired cricketers are entering the WCL wearing gold-embroidered jerseys. The jerseys, decorated with 18-carat gold, are made in 30-gram, 20-gram and 10-gram versions. The manufacturers say that this initiative has been taken to honor the rich tradition and legendary spirit of West Indies cricket. According to News18, the gold-embroidered jerseys for the West Indies Champions team have been made by Dubai-based luxury brand Lorenz. Its founder Raj Karan Duggal said, “This groundbreaking jersey pays homage to the rich heritage and legendary spirit of West Indies cricket’s greats – from Sir Clive Lloyd to Chris Gayle and modern-day icons. It is not just a sportswear, it is wearable history. It is a perfect blend of royal craftsmanship, cultural pride and sporting excellence.”

The gold-embellished jersey is the brainchild of Channel 2 Corporation, the owner of West Indies Champions. The company’s chairman Ajay Sethi said, “There are many legends in the West Indies Champions team. This jersey is a fitting tribute to all the great cricketers of West Indian cricket. We want to win the trophy this year in the World Championship of Legends.”
